Because he couldn't to start with. The program opens with him saying he is scared of flying, they mention he is scared of heights, he says he is technically inept. This guy was out to make a video, not an epic flying adventure. He wanted to carve his name in stone as "Brian Milton, One of Britains greatest 21st Century Adventurers" who would rather die trying, than not try at all. You probably find that he did just enough lessons to go solo ("Ah I can fly now" he thinks, "lets fly around the world, If I make it I'll be famous and make lots of money, if I die, I'll be famous")Tower wrote:I must admit I also did a quick calc and thougt he was going to crash on take off, now if I could do that, why couldn't he?????
Idiot
Why not fix the brakes?Brian Milton is a born adventurer. His first major expedition was in 1968 when he drove a battered Austin 7 Ruby across the Sahara Desert to meet his fiancée!! The car ran for 2000 miles on three pistons and 900 miles without brakes.
Brian's account of a clash between cultures, in which ultimately, the bad guys won.
I have to totally agree with all.Miskiet wrote:420l fuel = 357 kg

How much can a Blade lift? No wonder the authorities were unhappy with his tank.....

One question remains in my head : Why did he fly two days, about 700 km, without ever filling up the monstrious tank with fuel? Why when running along the 4000ft runway and not being able to climb beyond ground effect at halfway mark, did he not land again and rethink.
