vhpy
Ek sal verder noord wil uitklaar. **
Ek praat jou thaal...

Net n' plesier Oom Polla,

Beide roetes, van Pretoria to Kasane, is sowat ewe lank.

Hi Paul

Is there a website adress for Makgadikgadi Lodge? I do not get any response from the e-mail adress or telephone number.

Thanks

Hi Dawid, no unfortunately not. I also battled to speak to Mr. Mothetho, and he took days to answer my e-mail request.

He is definitly on 00 267 728 90500, and he is at the lodge.

He now also gave me another number, 00 267 767 54536. I have just spoken to them.

Their booking agency, Camp Management Services Botswana is in Sowa Town, 00 267 621 4344.

My bookings are made. See some others have booked as well. (^^) (^^) Chalet quanities at all, except Chobe Safari Lodge, are limited. You had better book if you don't plan to camp.

We will also make a badge & shirt with a logo on it to comemorate the adventure....thanks Rafiek (Madman) for suggesting that. (^^)

Johan, (Air Hog) told me on Saturday that KykNet is on board for a mini series covering the adventure? That will be great. (^^)

Posted the map and itenary at Microland this morning....had a great flight. Congrats to Annalett who went solo....she may join us for the adventure. (^^) (^^)

:o
I do notice that.
It is quite a distance.!
To compare it with recent trips. ($$) ($$)
The Numbi trip was 156 Knt ( From MLand)
The Margate trip was 358 Knt. from M Land. ( It demands you to sleep over. No problem when you fly in SA.)
The Kasane ( Botswane) trip.( From Marble Hall to Kasane) 558 Knt. ( plus 71 Knt if you fly from the rand.)
Die beplanning met oorvlieg, toestemming en Doana is verseker meer moeite as jy vlieg en minder as jy trailor.!! ? ($$)
Dit laat n ou drink!
Ek dink nog.! :o

Reg so Oom Polla.

I am not sure if it has been discussed already, but can one tow two trike trailers in tandem with one vehicle in Botswana? Does anyone know? It will be a big cost saving if two trikes can go behind one vehicle.

Ladies and gents, there already seems to be limited availability at Chobe Safari Lodge. Even their backup lodge, Chobe Bush Lodge, directly behind them is becoming fully booked. If you want a chalet you must book now.

Senyati stil has space but again is limited.

Alternatives in the same price range are:

Chobe Marina Lodge - P1758 2 persons B&B, P1560 single B&B, 00 267 625 2221. 8 units left. In town, (700m from Chobe Safari Lodge)
Kubu Lodge - P1060 2 persons, 00 267 625 0312. 7 units left. 9Km out of town
Toro Lodge - P1000 2 persons, 00 267 855 0395. 8 units left. 9Km out of town.

All these lodges are good but they are further from the activities.

Don't even try Mowana Safari Lodge (5 star), its prices are for overseas tourists. P4000 2 persons all inclusive.

If you wait you will camp. ## ##

If you want to camp at Chobe Safari Lodge let me know. They will take a bulk booking, but not single. They generaly work on a first come first serve basis.

I am waiting for feedback from Makgadikagadi Lodge about availability (Monday?). Else we stay at Nata Lodge and fly from Nata airfield.

Guys, if you have any problems whatsoever with the bookings call me or mail me and let me know. I will sort it out chop chop. (!!)

Hoop iemand koop daai bargain binne kort. (^^)

I want to create a whatsapp / sms group to comunicate developments and arrangements. Not all of us visit the forum regularly. ##

Ok, I have confirmation from Makgadikagadi Lodge, Remmy. They will have 20 rooms and camping for us. 8 Challets non self catering, 6 sharing rooms and 6 executive rooms. Camping is available and as he put it, and I quote, "We have camping site which will also be available for your camping. we do not provide camping material like tents;we only have ablousions which will be used by campus" Cool. :)

When you book please say you are part of the fly-in group. 00 267 728 90500.
