A good cross-section of answers from everyone, so thank you for your views on this somewhat 'spiritual matter'!

I purposely did not want to communicate the 'outcome' of my Sunday flight in my first post (which by the way was after having returned from my flight), but YES, I did fly, and YES, I am alive and writing this to you!

In line with a lot of the advice given in the posts above, I remained completely non-emotional and level-headed, considered all aspects of the planned flight (my mental and physical state, the state of my aircraft, the weather, and my skill and experience as a MPL) and after conducting a thorough preflight and having ticked all the boxes I took off with my son and flew for two hours, including two out landings and takeoffs, before finally returning without incident to Aeroden.

If nothing else it allowed me to better reflect on all elements of the situation and to make a qualified decision! To GO!

True ##

Sometimes too much emotion...

I remember doing a weekend of track racing at Phakisa..myself an three others trailered our bikes..so two man per car,two bikes per trailer...Saturday on the last session, one of my buds go down..just cosmetic damage..could have still continued riding for the weekend..because of the fall,he was pissed and decided he is leaving...now leaving myself and two buds to put three super bikes on two bike trailer...two hours later...get a call saying this dude was in an accident..he did not make it out of Welkom..Nissan champ skipped a stop street and t-boned him..super bike on trailer flipped over...trailer flattened bike...bike,car and trailer now in its happiness...Now dude is even more freaked out.. What happened then...he ended up staying and watched us finish our riding...

I reckon when ever you not lekka about something..preflight then have a coffee...probably just a number two at holding point...give it time and that not lekker feeling(number 2) will be flushed down the toilet...

A proper preflight of your aerie and yourself...No bad dream shud ever be the reason for not flying...

Fear 4Kol....Vat hom Fluffy

When it's your time..at least you got there in an Aquilla ## ## ##

If within limits of both personal and meteorological - Im not sure if the "dreamer" provided a date but otherwise you will never fly in anticipation of whats to come. Arrive at the airfield and on the back of your solid experience, make a call. I agree however with all that say if your not feeling lekker and comfy in your own head about something then rather put the plane away and have a beer.
Even though I do not contribute anymore - Dish's post caught my eye as the most rational, if we want to talk feelings / signs / dreams/assessments/ etc. If YOU don't feel "lekker and comfy" in your own head - leave the trike in the hangar.

But keep your calls to yourself - others might take offense if you spread it around.

dreams and people don't control the universe - GOD does --

if HE tells you you gonna die (which he doesn't) then you WILL die.

I fly to enjoy it, do it till you die -

Just maintain your plane, preflights and adhere to the law - you will be fine.
