Yesterday early am I managed 32 minutes but as per usual had to go the that despicable place that cannot be mentioned. WX was looking so good in the pm so I snuck out (again I know, I am really feeling very guilty about this
)During prelight I discovered I had left the radio on from the morning and the batteries were flat. But I have power from the plane so it should be able to run on external power, right, WRONG. It can only charge on external power. I could hear clearly but the moment I keyed the mike the radio died. This I discovered enroute to FAFK so I diverted on to Goedverwacht because Junkie was busy preflighting and I wanted to chat.
Unfortunately because of the damn radio I didn't want to venture too far from home so I didn't join him on his little cross country jaunt. On the way back to Morning Star I saw Keith and Morne zooting across to Altona, and I thought I would follow them. They were 8 miles ahead of me so I put the nose down, throttled up to 5800 and cruised at 90MPH to catch up with them. Not bad for a 503
Anyway back to MS where a Bosbok was in circuit. A damn chopper just called long finals and came in to hove over the threshold. The bosbok had to divert
. The chopper then without making any calls cruised in the circuit below Keith and Morne. They think they own the world Finally landed and ended up going to Guzzlers with Keith and Morne for a few(^^)
