Anyone had experience on this motor re reliability; is there a SA agent? other ideas for a 60-80 4stroke?

Motor 60-80 Hp 4 stroke

Jolla,

Try Verner motor from the Chech republic. Understand it is a good motor built tough and reliable. :D

My HKS has now had its 2nd olie change !!

Postby ZULU1 » Thu Mar 16, 2006 5:13 am

Its done 110 hrs no probs, but its consuming 6 ltrs an hour.

work it out easily...100hrs at approx 6 ltrs an hour

old 582 at 16 ltrs an hour

no plug changes, no nothing, no 2 stroke olie, no stress...

= 10 litres an hour saving = ZAR 5,000 in 8 months for just flying.

Power is not 582, but more than 503 and its now so smooooth !!

Long fly aways means you carry 30 % of fuel and installed weight is 3 kgs more. Damned thing took for ever to run in though, HKS service is very good.

Come fly with the Zulus !!

Zulu,

who did you buy it from, was it local or is it an import. What are the service intervals?

HKS purchase

Postby ZULU1 » Fri Mar 17, 2006 10:33 am

I obtained a airframe from Aiden, we then drew it with Solid works, downloaded the dxf. files from HKS website. Then we planted the entire assembly in solid works...presto extracted the component breakdown to position oil tanks etc. in the (HKS) factory correct places. Then we laser cut everthing to assemble like a jig saw puzzle. If anyone wants I can get a complete kit laser cut to fit one...

Engine came from Aiden.

Well worth the effort. But it takes for ever to run in, about 40 hrs, great now though.

Oh we have the kit to make it whicjh helps we build fully automatic re cycle facilities (MRFs) for the UK.

Good Luck
