Hi guys. Are we all back in the saddle again ?
Things have been happening fast and furious over the last few weeks.Great Juanita!! Nice press and fantastic website. Well done ! Give that goose a bells!!
Very sad gyro accident again this weekend. Johan Roodt apparently flew into telephone cables near Belfast ... innige innige simpatie aan die familie.I had such terrible flashbacks when I read about this in the Beeld as the scenario is so similar to Filipes accident just over a year ago.Do you guys know the old folksong "Where have all the flowers gone" ?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKvdPsnkPC0
haunting refrain...When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn...
And there I take off with my Xenon , so excited for my first flight of the new year. 10 minutes Tedderfield outbound and my fuel flow gradually starts dropping. 20lph...15lph...12lph... o moer ...8lph! at this stage the 180 has been duly executed and all sorts of forced landing areas scanned. My maag begin sulke grom geluide maak. Cold sweat on the brow... not a lot but just enough to run into my eyes and make them water. I rub my eyes with my hands which still have some residue of fuel on them after checking the fuel for condensation before take off.. Now my eyes are burning like hell and I can only just see the fuel flow dropping to 2lph at 5200RPM and 36"MP.HKGK !!
Decision time. The crop circles to my right or go for the runway while the engine is purring.Second option takes preference .Short base onto short finals and just as I thought I was home and dry the fuel flow dropped to ZERO and ...
nothing happened and I landed safely with the fuel pressure in the green all the time.We then earthed the RDAC to the engine block and all has been normal since then.We live and learn and so does the factory back in Poland hopefully too ...
Thanks Braam for always being there to sort any hickup out. Xenon is growing in leaps and bounds. How many are we now? 11?? With the Rand /Euro at the moment I was just wondering... Wyk satan !!!
Loved flying to the vaaldam to see the sluices open this morning and landed as the first bowls were being rolled in the black clouds overhead. As I pulled her into the hanger the heavens opened and that is our flying for this weekend!
Xenon still going great and the joy and serious love affair with this incredible baby continues.
Saw Cilliers overhead Langebaan on New Years day with ZU RDV and my first Xenon looked great in the air. Couldnt wait to get back home and do the same thing. Check out his pic of a Whale and her calf taken from the Xenon along the coast.Ok windgat Kapenaars we have beautiful mine dumps which you don't have !!
Enjoy the flying in 2011 and maybe consider adding just a few feet to your usual hight above ground as a New Years resolution??? LOOKING FORWARD TO GARIEP
