Wanted: Quicksilver MXII

Good day
I'm looking for a Quicksilver MXII with NON-Steerable nose wheel. The reason is that I have limited use of my legs (walk on crutches) and this aircraft is mostly hand-controlled. I would love to get back into the air and this looks like a solution.

The only reason I would sell is to purchase a Skyfox if still available. I'm having a tremendous ammount of fun with my MXII at this stage.

Hi all.

Does anyone know of a decent Skyfox that's for sale anywhere in the country? The one in Parys have been sold in the mean time.

Agent, you said that there are many of them collecting dust at your airfield - do you know if any might be up for sale?

Hi Morph,

I know Phillip well - he's got one in spares only right now. We've discussed the possibilities, but it's still a long way off from being completed.

Not good for me, I want to fly, not build. I've got too many partially completed projects at home as is.

Hi BigD,

Yup, that's mine. I bought it for a good price, but I'll let go for same if (and ONLY if) I can find a good Skyfox at a good price.

My other choice would be the Tbird, but they sell for more that I'm willing to spend right now. My wife is not keen on flying and that speaks for itself.

Having great fun with the MXII for now.

Hey guys,

Have been following this thread with a lot of interest.Since I will soon be in the market for an aerie (second-hand), is there anyone who would be willing to educate me on the pros and cons of the following:

T'Bird

MXII

Skyfox

Mizer

I'd like to be able to do the odd cross-country, but right now, getting in the air and building hours is the principle thing I need and want.

Looking forward to some hearty advice.

Try Thunderboy on the TBird (Or the guys at Davies at Xwinds) I have flown in one, but it was very cold so I did not pay much attention

I looked at a skyfox and Mizer in about 2000 when I bought the KR. Very basic, but look like a lot of fun Simple and easy to fly I am told. Hennie and Morph have experience on these. Piet (PProp) de Necker is a Mizer fan. He flew one all over the country.. Drop him a line. He loves to talk about it..

MXII is only one I don't know, but they are very popular in USA and one of the top Protea power flying team boys has one and loves it....

I think TBird will be most expensive by some way. Others were around the R40-R60K mark when I last checked...

Hi Rooikat,

On your list, the ease to fly should be as follows:

1. MXII - Very stable and easy to fly. Not too fast so you cannot really go places.
2. Skyfox - Easy to fly. Slighly faster, full 3-axis with long range fuel tanks as standard.
3. TBird - Very, very strong aerie, but I believe does not glide well (Please don't flame me, I've heard this twice from different people, so must be true to some extend) This would be one of my serious microlight choices though.
4. Mizer - Flies more like a real aircraft - Knew John Walkenshaw in Saldanha well who had one and spent some flying time with him in those windy conditions. They take off and land rather fast for a microlight, but you can really go places in it.
