The debate re pre mix or autolube continues.
Please can someone tell me how to disconnect my autolube system so I can start premixing.

Stop listening to shitty advice and leave your autolube system connected. It is such a simple device that there is not much that can go wrong. You PAID for it. USE it. It is a very reliable system that will save you a lot of money in the long run. What kind of engine you got?

Spurwing - Let an AP/AMO do it for you - Did not cost me much at all to have the autolube removed by Pro
I am not saying it is the way to go, very much a personal thing

Hallo Ducs, wil jy nou he die ou moet ook sy errouplyn opdinges soos joune??
Los jou auto lube in broer, die ouens gee vir jou BAIE slegte raad.
Ducs was lekker om julle gesigte te sien, blue skies en veilig vlieg, Ek is darem ook genadiglik veilig terug by my huis.

it's a simple oil pump that runs in oil failure is 3% mixing of oil failure is 20% in the USA ......and you use less oil tjis is a no brainer set it right and leave it .

Granted there have not been many failures........but when it does fail, there is no warning light - you going down. I personally know two people that its happened to and one nealy died.
But hey......leave it on or take it off
, there are more important issues rather concern yourself with. Winter is coming. If you disconnect it you can leave the bottle on and fill it with Old Brown Sherry for those cold away trips

Nee, ek en die autolube is nie maatjies nie. Dis verseker 'n persoonlike ding. As jy nog nooit k#kk@s met die ding gehad het nie stem ek saam...........los dit uit. Wanneer jy eers 'n stel afgetrap het met een wat opgepak het, sal jy weet hoekom ek dit nie laaik nie.

Ducks, ek is k@k bang om in groot erries te vlieg, daar is te veel plekke wat n AP se wakende oog kan ontglip.
My senigwees was behoorlik moertoe met die Trip Big smoke toe, want dit was nag. So donker soos die binnekant van n koei. Ek kon boggerall buite sien nie. Terugvlug Fairest toe was OK, want toe die seatbelt liggie doodgaan, het ek en JJ heel voor gaan sit, die wereld bekyk, en terug huis-toe ge-navigate. Lekker as jy heeltyd weet watter dorp le daar onder. Land die groot erries altyd so HARD??
Ek het amper gedink ons is afgeskiet.
Nee, ek is nie bang nie, maar verkies liewer MY Turbi of n BB. Window seat ge-garuantee elke keer.

When you are approaching the runway on a steep final, you will have high revs and low throttle setting. On premix, this equates to low oil injestion causing very high wear rates on the engine. On a long final, it may mean engine seizure. On an autolube system, providing the engine is turning, it's getting oil. It's a no brainer. Leave the autolube system in.
But what about a 503 I hear you all ask? The 503 uses heavy duty type chain saw oil which is formulated for extreme conditions and can cater for this, also the engine cools faster than a water cooled engine when you run low throttle settings.

Tandemtod, at least another right minded advise-giver. Thanks for the explanation. With premix the mix is only working at its optimum when the engine is running BTTW. At lower power settings and at idle, it is buggering up the spark plugs. With autolube the mix is always at the optimum. Saves oil and your spark plugs will last far longer.
