Bennie - the closest looking gyro I can think of is the Mongomerie Merlin - see the side by side 2-seater in the left of the pic below.

Your best bet is to try posting on the Rotory Wing Forum http://www.rotaryforum.com/forum/index.php - I'm sure someone there will recognise it if it's was available as a kit once upon a time and not a home design once-off.

It is called a leopard. It was a South African design gyro.

Eben, thats really interesting. Do you have any more info or knowledge about it's history and development?

Yes we have , I have a whole video of the gyro flying. A guy in Vanrhyns Dorp also owned one.
