The 1150 is an excellent engine . The Bosch motronic is also superb it is single ignition also single fuel At present my first engine is a 1100S with The Bosch Motronic and the second system is our Eboxi. It is super reliable and I have done 260hrs had to use the Eboxi once because the Motronic was water saturated after very heavy rains that saturated my trike when I towed it on holiday. It was wonderful when the Motronic stopped and I switched to the Eboxi and the rest of the flight was uneventful. The trike dried out and the Motronic is faultless. The Eboxi can be fitted afterwards if the owner so desires. On the twin spark engines it is a non event on the single plug engines it means adding the second spark plug If somebody is interested I can give all the procedures and details. There is plenty of meat in the cyl head to machine the second plug hole.

vhpy Thanks for the replies. I have made an offer and will get confirmation tommorrow. Oupa-G, and others, if they say that my offer is too low, what do you think should my top-end offer be ? I am not yet sure whether I will use it myself, but I want to get it secured into our community begore it gets wasted on some go-kart or whatever.

Oupa-G,
I promise you that I am not the type (nor have the time) to start with re-designing the wheel. If I intend to install it, are you the man to do it, I think so.

Back to one of my first questions. Can we (you) install it on a Windlass under carriage ? Secondly, what wing should I be thinking about if I want to utilze the full potential of the motor ?

I have this dream of a Jenya topless, a Alex undercarriage and a motor of my choice.

Is this possible ?

Nee, glad nie Boet. ZU-AZP behoort weer binne die volgende maand te vlieg. Maar die engine-out op AZP het my aan die soek gesit. Vandaar dat ek die BMW enjin opgespoor het.

My gat juk bietjie. Terwyl ek AZP (2 stroke) vlieg, wil ek begin bou aan 'n 2e trike. Ek het die BMW gekoop vir minder as 'n kwart van 'n 912 enjin se prys. Die besparing gee my finansieel baie opsies. Oorweeg miskien 'n topless Jenya vlerk, maar ek soek nog 'n geskikte platform (karretjie) wat as kombinasie kan dien. 'n GT450 karretjie, of soortgelyk.

Miskien moet ek "post" onder "aircraft wanted" ?

Anyway, sien uit na die projek. Wat vlie jy ?

Cobra 'karretjie' with a jenya wing and a BMW motor should make a nice combo?.

What would be the price of a new 1200 BMW engine in SA ?

I think it is in the region of R 48000 excluding all the attachments such as fuel injection etc. One could then regard it as a SHORT BLOCK!

Could be more now due to increases, exchange rate etc.
