OH NO ! This is very sad. Saw 2 photos on AVCOM as well, not nice to see gracefull flying machines lying about like broken objects.
There should be several engineers on this forum, but structures rarely gets BLOWN OVER by wind. Wind around/over a structure, especially hangars with roof slopes varying between 4 and 10 degrees, will flow over a roof sloped at the perfect angle of attack, creating huge lift forces on the roof, especially with no wind flowing under the (wing) roof. A structure is then literally sucked of the ground by the low pressure created above the roof. And when the roof goes, the rest just follows. Installing a wirly or a vent in the roof helps to lower the differenciating pressures between inside and outside.
This does not help at the moment though.
If any of you guys at Lazer need short term hangarage, please contact me. We will make a plan to accomodate at Brits (no charge).
p.s. How many trikes were damaged ?

So sad to see this again. I know you can look at the construction of the hangars now and say perhaps the poles were not right, but in reality, they have served you well all the years. Sometimes, nature is very harsh. not god, not man, just nature.
To all those who have lost their aeries, my heartfelt sympathies.

So sad to see that someones dream lies shattered on the ground. My condolences to those that are affected by this terrible storm. This also couldn't have come at a worse time now with this financial turmoil and not a lot of people with much spare money lying around and this will probably mean the end of the road for their dreams. So sad, really

After Conties one would think that the probability of a similar disaster is almost zero.
Proven wrong!
Sorry to hear chaps. If there is a similar fund set up please post the details.
Good luck.
Graham.
