Yesterday morning their was a gyro flying past Pearly Beach (sea front). It looked like a dark blue MT-03, the same as FO Gyro's one.
How was the wx? Wasn't the wind a bit strong? Any foto's?

That may have been Mike M in his RAF - he's hangaring there for the holidays. We both happened to be flying our gyros last week and hooked up over Arniston for a short coastal scenic flight together which was fun.

Nope, it wasn't that early.
It was definitely a tandem gyro

Re: Gyro flying near Pearly Beach
Thi,
Wasn't me. I haven't flown for about a week now. Hope to fly tomorrow, if it doesn't rain.
I saw a couple of gyro's come over Somerset West this morning, and the one was blue. Couldn't tell from a distance if it was a Magni or MT-03.

Was an ELA. The guy camps at Uilenkraalsmond for holidays. Not sure of his name. Nick Loubser also very active in the area with his RAF.

Next time take a pic with your new Canon! (Like the ones you took of the Mooney during the Trans Agulhas Race)THI wrote:Yesterday morning their was a gyro flying past Pearly Beach (sea front). It looked like a dark blue MT-03, the same as FO Gyro's one.

Just seen this thread, not having been in comms for a while. I think that was Gerhard (from Morning Star) and his ELA.
