Very bad !!! And I saw about 6 gyros fly over my home in Hout Bay on Sunday lunchtime.
Eish, and there I was, STILL 'walking' around looking upwards. (**)

We had a very good AGM and I must congratulate and thank Johan Meyer for his dedicated effort and commitment. Takes some doing Johan and I think you can be proud of your achievements. You certainly can rely on my support!

It was really nice to meet most of the other gyronauts at Devon Valley on Saturday.

We all got a bit fragmented after the formalities were over so I headed back to Morningstar to await further instructions. Tobie and his group of 4 MT03's arrived and after a briefing we flew coastwise, anticlockwise around the penisula. Most pleasant flight was had by all and I am sure they will be posting lots of pictures really soon (Lets hope so!).

You are right. Where are all the photo's? I meant to post some, but didn't get rounnd to it, so here goes...

Various formations left Jnb. We were 3 gyro's that left Kittyhawk on 9 Oct 2008 at 0620: Johan, Tobie, and myself, with Charlene joining us at Kimberley.

Because I was transponder equipped, I negiotiated with Jnb Tower to get clearance through the CTR via the Northern Corridor, which took us west of the Kempton Park cooling towers, and east of Modderfontein, overflying Bedfordview.

After 7 hours flying time on day 1, we stopped over at Zeekoegat. Those of you might remember Chante Hinds (see in the 3rd photo third from the left), who used to be a presenter on morning TV a few years ago. She and her husband own the sheep farm where we stayed. We had the best tasting lamb chops that evening!

An awesome flight down, but call me a sissy, after 7 hours on day 1, and 6 hours on day 2, I was very tired, and made me appreciate how fast my Boeing is being able to fly JNB-CPT in 1:45, but then it's not nearly as much fun. vhpy

That's good to see, because although there is interest, I find there are not enough people posting on Gyro Talk. It's such a good forum to learn from each other.
