Saturday 6 Dec 2008 is FLY-INN day with great interest shown from all interested Gyro enthusiasts.

A buffet type breakfast for R50,00 will be available from 8:00 with coffee even earlier.

We do not have any other program items so all activities are at your own discretions, although please try and be in by 9:00 to be part of the group picture.

Some of the Kitty Hawk based pilots offered to take visitors on a 30min flight in our area showing popular landmarks like the Cullinan hole. Please report to the SAGPA table and give your name to Elmarie.

Magni, Autogiro MT03 and Ela-Aviation as well as Composite Technologies will be present.

We will have an advisory ATC service on the day, manned by Nigel and Johnny.

Joining procedures: Call 5 nms out 120.65 Mhz.
Call overhead at 6100’.
Descend on the dead side (Western sector) and to call on either a right (for runway 01) or Left (for runway 19) hand downwind depending on wind.

Marshalls dressed in white T-shirts with PANASONIC letters will indicate the preferred parking spot.

SEE YOU ON SATURDAY

No specific time, but anything after sunrise to start your engine would be fine!

Sadly I only managed to fly past Kitty Hawk (Sorry McFly, PietMeyer), my PAX was getting uncomfortable with the clouds, visibility and "bumps", so had to return too home base.

Next time, though........

My sincere thanks to all involved in organizing the Fly-in. But please don't do it again, or if you do, don't let me find out. I have sinned as a result of it. I don't own a gyro, but after Saturday I desperately want ... no, desire ... no, I NEED one.

I enjoyed the day as much as anyone else and appreciated meeting with a couple of gyro-maniacs and seeing what exactly those little flying machines are capable of doing. Hope to become a member of the "family" soon. Keep up the good work.

My first flight ever in a Giro and what an awesome experience to take some aerial pictures of a great event that went off so well.
