Groete fellow South Africans,

Going to stay out of this because of the politics, so do forgive me for butting in. South African Rugby is Springbok and should remain so. It's like calling the 'All Blacks' kiwi's just to satisfy some pc @sshole trying to bury a tradition. Leave the Springboks alone and leave its tradition alone. Now I have a question I would like to ask and I don't think I am going to like the answer (**) (**) (**) (**)

Is apathied over?? If a black man applies for a job as a sixty percenter and the white man is an eighty percenter. Who get's the job?? Is the answer based on merit or colour and bear in mind my friends. I live here now so my future is your future. How long is the SA economy going to survive if the eighty percenters are overlooked???? :(> :(> :(>

Ek is jammer for the non-aviation content. Asseblief delete if you consider my comment out of order ## ##

Bloody hot here so it is. Alles van die beste (^^) (^^)

Regretfully the 60% or even lower gets the job!

The concept of BEE is totally misconstrued by wealth seekers. If applied correctly, the "disadvantaged" would have benefited by getting him or her up to an applied level of being economically self sustaining and being able to think or apply himself actively in the workplace!

Have a look at the repercussions that hit hit ESKOM bigtime... all of a sudden, the toolboy became the technician fart arsing around with atomic energy and forgetting a nut inside the turbine! We all know the result and what has transpired since then! This is but 1 example of force feeding responsibility to the 60% or less!

Enough said sir.... My softness and I are off to buy groceries!

Well USM: BEE is rather stupid, I agree with Bad Nav.
From where I'm standing it is stupid! You recruit a certain type of person for whatever job. So for instance, if, Like my tutor, you own a toystore (HI Ho Cherry O) and a balck lady comes in for the job as X, and then a coloured woman comes for the same job, both with the same credentials, you wil, employ who ever is best suited to the customers. So if your shop mainly has coloured's buying, you will employ the colored woman, but if the customer base is mainly black, you employ the black woman. But if the BEE find out that you have enmployed a black over a coloured/white, they will, if you do it enough rate you as a BEE business, and this will mean, that you will have a better chance to get a contract with the government!
STUPID!!!
BTW: I am NOT a racist!

Trikenut, Coloured women are considered black according to the BEE, I know my wife did her Thesis on it and btw she is underpriviledged as well according to BEE.

Sorry John but I cannot agree 100% with that one ....

In the old system the coloured people were not white enough and in the present system they are not black enough! They are once again political soccer balls and are being played like lost farts in a perfume factory. Possibly for your wife's thesis it worked but in practice not really the truth in the work force methinks! :?:

Treading carefully to avoid politics and keeping it aviation related...

FACT: The Aviation Radio Telephony method of Identifying SAA aircraft is "Springbok" followed by the flight number.

Is Colin Jordaan (CEO of CAA) going to have that changed to "Protea"? I think not, he is far too intelligent. (^^)

I will be wearing my Springbok jersey with pride tomorrow for two reasons.
A) The Springbok has NO racist or apartheid connotation (remember '95 when Madiba wore it with pride?) and is more unifying than dividing so it should therefore be kept.
B) Its time we stood up and showed people like Buti Khompela (sic) that we have a voice and that they cannot simply ride roughshod over traditions and symbols that many in this country and around the world hold dear.

My reference to a chat forum was for the edification of Trikenut's new buddy who had just joined the forum. This is not a chat room ala Mixit where we post things like
So what do you look like
or
what's the colour of your eyes
JetRanger wrote:Strange, I kinda thought this was a place where we could chew the fat with our aviation buddies, obviously not, my bad then.
yes is is, this is Hangar Talk, inviting the same sort of conversation that you would have in a hangar , just keep nudity, religion, politics, blatent profanity and personal slander out of it. Imagine you are standing in the hangar and there are younger children standing around.

I think by now you guys have got it, let's chill on the constant comments like
there, aviation related!

PS: If you just look at this thread and the heated posts and responses it has caused is exactly why we have the rules in the first place.

I hope so...hence why I was quite taken aback. But I withdraw my comments if I misconstrued John's post.
