HOWZIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome to sunny SA Oom en Tannie Aardtappel. I see that you have had a taste of South African service delivery early on! Oh well, you will get used to it after a while.

I really like your comments about SA, certainly it has its problems but so do other countries. I myself am an Englishman and could never go back. You certainly cannot get the same lifestyle over there.

Enjoy the next stage of your lives. I hope to meet with you and the Mrs. some time in the future.

Uncle spud - just outside your lovely little town there is an Amarula Lapa go for a visit and buy some of the stuff and drink a couple of glasses - you won't care about the mozzie bites. Also swopping to rum will cure the problem of getting bitten but it might casue peopel also not to get close to you.
If you worried about the sickness - drink copious amount if Gin and tonic. We worked out when I was in the army that if you drink 14 litres of tonic water a day(laced with gin of course to improve the taste) you will get your correct quinine intake not to worry about malaria.
Anyway - hope you guys(and the cat) will settel into SA soon enough and make it a home of your own.
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

Hi Uncle Spud
I see you have put your money where your mouth is! WELCOME TO YOUR NEW HOME!!!!!!!
You will settle in quickly. Most South Africans are great people. They will also teach you how to BRAAI properly. This is one of our most important pasttimes, except for flying that is. By the way have you checked you the cheap Zodiac that is for sale under classifieds for R120 000. Sounds like a bargain and in my mind much more useful than a Bantam that you were talking about when we spoke on Skype some time ago. Please pm me your phone number. I will also send mine.
Best wishes
Andre

Hi tis I so it is,

Point taken JetRanger. Leftseat had a pop at me for the same reason. Ja, this is my country now so whenever I forget it, feel free to administer the "Seff Effrican AAK" (**) (**) (**)

Saturday today so it is. November the 29th and tomorrow is my official retirement date from HM Prison Service after 25 years. Never considered over the years that this moment would arrive sipping a "Kool Drank" and wearing shorts in the bushveld of SA. But, there you go. Nothing more stranger than life itself. I hope the Governor does not expect me to fly back and say goodbye ** **

Each day I learn something about living in MY new country and yesterday we had the pleasure of meeting young kraaines who came round to our Daughters for a visit. Groete young man. Enjoyed your company so we did, call again. <*>

Still being bitten by the friendly natives but not so many at one time now. Most likely having trouble finding a free spot to complete a three axis landing (Thats the aviation link taken care of) before starting the braie with me as the menu again. Also told today that don't bitch if they itch. It's the ones that don't itch that you should bitch about. Silly me asked why so I did. Stupid question so it was. I really did not want to know the answer :(> :(>

Enjoy the weekend guys and Dankie to all of you for your comments (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^) BTW, SMILEY you and I need to talk mfwetu

As for the mozzies!!!! IT'S BLOODY WAR SO IT IS s067 s067 s067 s067

Be good Andy

Hi Uncle Spud,

Welcome to Sefrica. Hope you really enjoy it here. Anyway, as they say, know your friends, but know your enemy better. And for this reason I desided to post this specially to you. Enjoy it.
Mosquitoes are insects in the family Culicidae. They have a pair of scaled wings, a pair of halteres, a slender body, and long legs. The females of most mosquito species suck blood (hematophagy) from other animals, which has made them the most deadly disease vector known, killing millions of people over thousands of years and continuing to kill millions per year by the spread of infectious diseases.[1][2][3]

Length varies but is rarely greater than 16 mm (0.6 inch)[4], and weight up to 2.5 mg (0.04 grain). A mosquito can fly for 1 to 4 hours continuously at up to 1–2 km/h[5] travelling up to 10 km in a night. Most species are nocturnal or crepuscular (dawn or dusk) feeders. During the heat of the day most mosquitoes rest in a cool place and wait for the evenings. They may still bite if disturbed. Mosquitos are adept at infiltration and have been known to find their way into residences via deactivated air conditioning units.[6]

Just had to cover the aviation part a bit!!
