Thank you Priester,

I had a full plastic 25 lt 'approved' container spring a leak along its seam, luckily whilst I was still strapping it tight.

Get rid of all that plastic and those dust collector wanker pipes and get a metal jerry can with matching 'breather spout. Tip upside down and it empties in 1 tenth of the time of a wankerpipe- no glug glug and it seals like a ducks arse- water tight.

Also fill it up and lie it on its side in the boot- drip free and straps flush in the back seat.

I have petrol containers supplied from Commercial Marine, these have lasted some years, and have not leaked or had lids crack. The red 25l has a clear section with the liquid amount measured on the side so as to see how much is still in container. Others are the clear / misted colour and they have give good service, handled on site. Both these containers need to be in the shade as they bloat - have not had one burst - they return to there original shape once pressure released.
Trust this helps.

Hi All,
After facing the same problem with the YELLOW cups on the Red Addis petrol containers,
I've send a e-mail to Thys van Emmenis, he is the Executive Director Manufacturing of
Addis / Usabco. Not even 1hour later he contacted me personally, explained the problem,
and we also discussed the black cups with the breaking problem,he offered to send me
some new cups with a courier company, I've checked at our hanger, and there was about
15 containers with broken or new yellow cups, I've e-mailed him the quantities required,
and within 30 min he responded by e-mail and confirmed the quantities.
They will be delivered at my office within the next few days   AT NO EXTRA COST (^^)
This I think deserves a COMPLEMENT, well done to Thys and his company.

I don't think the service needs a compliment, I think they should advertise in the mags and issue a replacement campaign.

I agree with Leon. Poor showing by Addis. They should have had a campaign to replace all the caps. I had several broken and Outdoor Warehouse full of shit to replace them. I suppose the replacement ones will be the same poor quality as the originals?

A couple of weeks ago the wife wanted to buy me one of these containers.
She commented on them and after reading this thread i do not think i will get one just yet.
Will wait to see if there are any improvements.

I went into builders warehouse where I bought mine. Told the guy that looks after the auto stuff I bought one there and the cap broke, gave me a yellow replacement. Did not even want to see a slip.

Hi Guys

Just a quick note on the yellow caps. I was sent replacement yellow caps but found that the rubber seal in the caps dissolved once it came into contact with petrol. Had to throw away 25 liters of fuel because of it.
I spoke to Thys van Emmenis from Addis and explained what happened. He confirmed that they had pronblems and I was sent about 20 new rubber seals. He said that the yellow caps also had a bad batch with the rubber. Just make sure.

I took one of the new selas and placed it in fuel for a few days and it seems to be fine. The first ones of the yellow caps turned the petrol all black after one day as it satrted dissolving. Just check or contact Thys. His number is listed in the beggining of the thread
