Hornet
Hornet
Talking to a friend who is keen to start flying and hauled out the ol' log book and saw that my first few hours were done on a Hornet. Anybody still flying these? It was the only trike I know of that would have benefited from hydraulic bars. Eisch she was heavy. Arms were totalled after an hour. I think it was of Eastern European manufacture.
Am I paranoid enough?
Re: Hornet
Eastern Gauteng Manufacture I think - built at Springs by Fred.
Re: Hornet
There is one in our neck of the woods. I considered one when I first began triking.

Re: Hornet
There is a good example of a nice Hornet at Rhino Park - the present owner is Mountain Man - 082 943 8730 presently its airworthy , dual ignition 503 , C box with an Ivo Prop - stings like a bee - its a great little trike , flys well with a high lift wing plus a trailor - talk to Henry ? mountain man should you be interested

Re: Hornet
I am still flying a Hornet ZS WKA out of Springs ,Fred Blockland built them and used them in his school ,they do benefit from a upgrade wing .
The biggest problem is a very nervous front wheel ,if it is not nice and straight on landing it tends to rock and roll very quickly ,this is cured by adding a shock absorber between the fork and keel tube .
The seat can also be changed for the two independent seats from the Scout/Safari
If anybody has a flight manual ,i would like to organise a copy as DCA/CAA has lost the original and my file dose note have a copy
