2 hours!!! Out to Henley, then on to HGV - My "Arch Nemisis", my first dual cross country to an uphill landing, I visited him today... Smoother than a babies behind touchdown on the uphill slope... Back to klip to practice some wheelies on Two Zero...

99.6 hours logged to date! Anyone got a camera to witness my 100 hr naked flight?

Took the day off - first one in months and had an absolute gas

Departed FAFK in the Bushbaby, with a short hop over to Delta200 to pic up a pax. Had a quick chat with Pieter about the Jabi conversion and dropped in next door to check out progress on the T28's undergoing rebuild. They got 6 of them to rebuild - man these are seriousy large birds with radials pushing out 1800+hp - cant wait to see them in the air.

Anyway, then headed off to Saldanha, taking the scenic route along the coast to Yzerfontein, then over Langebaan lagoon to FASD.

Stunning weather and scenery along the way go without saying.

The ATC at FALW were very friendly, and with minimal fuss, efficiently routed us through their airspaces and landed at FASD.

Pity we missed Johan there, but his missus opened up the clubhouse and gave us some cokes. After watching an impromtu air dsiplay over to the west by a couple of the Airforce's Silver Falcons, it was off again heading northwest over to Paternoster and then low level along the beach past Britannia Bay and Stompneusbaai, which included a quick excursion over to Seal island - wow!! - there must have been a zillion of them all over the place - im amazed at how big those sea cows can get.

We then set course South back to Yzefontain, routing overhead FASD and the Lagoon.. once again getting the same great service from the guys & girls at FALW. Once past the southern tip of the Lagoon, FALW handed us off to descend and remain below FAR45 to do as we pleased. Thus executing the standard falling out of the sky routine, headed for the coast for somemore low level flying to Yzeforntein, Table mountain looming in the distance ... sooooo coool.

On reaching Yzeforntein, we ducked inland to follow the road to Darling
where we gave the good folks a bit of an impromptu show over the showgrounds, before heading over to Malmesbury, onto Wintervogel and then finally a fullstop at FAFK to round off 4 hours of excellent flying!

After a late lunch, decided that the day was just too good to waste, so headed over the Goedverwacht, pulled out the Gemini for another 2 hours of fun filled flying. This included a quick trip into the Cape Town CTR, after gaining permission from Tower, and somewhat unusually being granted it immediatly with no questions asked (were very businesslike and monitored progress at regular intervals too)... I thus scooted over to Durbanville and beat up the ol neighbourhood for 5 minutes or so before again leaving the CTR to the North and FAFK, where I had the Gemini AP'd by Louis.

Its not often I get a day out to just do my own thing, but feel very thankful and privilaged for every day that I get the opportunity to fly

Saturday's back to the grindstone with more pup'e to train.. heck life a beach huh

Whoo-hoo, I'm coming to JHB again next week Thursday through the weekend to Tuesday the 10th and will be staying in Muldersdrift. I'd love to hitch a ride with one of the gang either on Flyday depending on meetings or definately Saturday or Sunday. Any offers?

Is that "Whoo-hoo" like in crying or "Whoo-hoo" that you are upset about going up to Gauteng?
