Airport police visit?

Postby John Young » Wed Oct 22, 2008 2:46 pm

Hi,

I have been visited by the SAP. They obviously do have jurisdiction at all airfields and have entitlement to search planes, property and request documentation.

You can phone the Oribi Police on 084 516 9715 for clarification. Tell them that I referred you.

Of course, just like all boys (read us), they like looking at toys too. vhpy

In my case, they were more interested in k@k-praat - maybe just "passing the day by".

We are just down the road from you and get them often checking the hangers and aeries. They are mainly worried about people using Micro's for drug running
They normally bring their sniffer dogs with to check the aeries out. Just make sure the dog pisses against the hanger door and not your aerie. Nothing to worry about if you only use your aerie for flying (^^)

Mario - at this point there is NO regulation that can stop you from using a private field. The only thing you can't do right now is build a private strip without having some sort of impact study done but that is a DEAT issue and not a police or CAA matter.
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

Are you allowed to search them before they search your airplane? The reason I ask that is because you cannot be to careful
