Oupa-G

Why is the engine mount in essence 2 pieces? You have made a seperate mount to fit onto the existing BB mount?

Dont know if im making myself clear so ill explain furether........instead of going straight from the fixing pionts on the fuselage directly to the motor, you have opted to go from the existing BB engine mount and add the tubular frame to that and then go into the motor. WHat was your reasoning behind this?

Cheers

Massimo you must not see the new engine mount as part of the engine mount it is the adaptor that makes the backside of the engine the same as the backside of a 912 Rotax so the owner has the freedom to choose which ever engine he prefers so the airframe does not get changed and the engine rubbers are between the airframe engine mount and the back of the engine. This actually keeps it all simple. This also makes the BMW adaptable to any airframe that the owner wants to fit the engine also the CoG can be accurately controlled. I hope this is explained well enough. This back of the BMW is 4130 tubing and the mount has been stress relieved.

 THAT, has nothing to do with you. It can handle engines up to 120hp, (6 Cyl Jab) , but I would suggest nothing smaller than 80 hp. vhpy

Dankie kerels! Ons geniet ons self gate uit met die nuwe errie se bou. vhpy Vandag het ons weer n KLOMP werk klaargemaak. We fitted the front screen while William was finishing up the upholsterig of the doors. He did a very nice job. The whole upholstering job is now complete. Rest of the afternoon we made a couple of nice alu fairings. Oom is coming for his new pride and joy on Monday. I had a bit of an accident this afternoon. I tripped and fell off the 200 liter drum I used for a ladder. I am sure the floor has a couple of nasty cracks in it. No serious damage fortuntely. But MOST undignified. The 2 lads had a heluva fright. vhpy vhpy vhpy vhpy

I can't look at this website anymore its the waiting that gets me. I have to be patient in the file at the coaters there was 2km fencing in front of me and for the coaters that is good income So Oupa-G will have to wait. Meanwhile we are getting the engine mounts and the other paraphenalia's ready.

Can't wait
