Was in Loeriesfontein saw the Safari and a friend of mine commented this is not a Bushbaby it is a Bushdaddy. The workmanship is excellent I inspected the aircraft in detail with a critical eye. These eyes have been actively looking at aeroplanes for 48 years. I worked for PLACO at Wonderboom with Obie Oberholzer when lapaeries were the norm and blikaeries were the latest fashion. The fabric covering on the Safari is not good it is SUPERB it is of the best I have seen.Estiban and William under the watchfull eye of Boet have done a job that is hard to beat.
Boet himself is not a boss that just orders but he guides his men with a dope roller in his hand he sets the example.Boet and team thank you for putting so much "love" into this aerie.
From the technical point I took the scales up and did the final CoG so that the engine mount can be constructed. We know the weight of every part and the moment arm and it is all in a CoG program. The final figure is aircraft complete firewall backward is 220kgs that includes the radios
and everything.
Now for the making of the engine mount, The adjustable jig is ready the pipes will be mitred and the engine mount should be ready by the end of the week. Will keep you posted pictures are coming.
Cheers Oupa-G
