Ek is jammer but have to say it

Postby Uncle Spud Murphy » Sun Sep 28, 2008 9:05 pm

Ek is jammer guys and ready to take the flak again but I have to say this, flying related or not (**) (**)

With reference to Grumpys (I'm sure he's not) relief fund request
When I posted "YOU AIN'T GOING TO LIKE THIS etc etc the post received 53 replies - Give the Soutpiel k@k for speaking out of turn so we shall ## ## ## s067 s067

When I posted "Here is my money and pleased I am etc etc the post received 4 replies and three of those came from me. Now who was it who said "Being nice gets better results"?

How are we doing with the fund raising Demon/Grumpy? Not meaning to stir mud in the pond of course, just genuinely interested so I am s024 s024

Alles van die beste. Stay well and prosper (^^) (^^)

PS: Trust all those who went to Numbi enjoyed the weekend. Would have liked to have been there so I would with the softness - plane or no plane !!!! !!!!

Uncle Spud, not to stir a hornets nest again, and I do not want to insinuate (sp?) that you are bragging, but from experience the members of this forum do not generally publicise when they make any sort of contribution. My point being do not take the number of responses as an indication of the number of contributions made.

Appreciate what you are saying slysi but bragging I am not. It is not in my nature to do that, and my post had little to do with the number of contributions made by others to Grumpy's fund. It had a lot to do however with the number of people SHOUTING when my intentions were honorable (And yes,I was OTT and apologized for being so) for doing one thing and then saying nothing when the intentions were again honourable and this time backed up by action that was expected after what I posted. Einstein said that for for every action there is a reaction. That does not always apply in science or in life matters.

Maybe I do have a big mouth (Note Avater) but I have big principles as well and strong emotions when others are in trouble or going through a bad time. Perhaps I should stay well away from some topics and keep whatever I think to myself, but I cannot do that slysi. Thinking of a solution never solves anything, only the doing of can do that.

MODERATOR: Please remove this topic from the forum and also my comments on 'The President'. That too was the result of an over active emotion. I care very much about South Africa and it's people and it sickens me, not only to see incompetence and corruption stuffing your country but also the stuffer's getting away with it every time and laughing at you like cackling hens pecking the corn you grow.

Uncle Spud, hence why I said that I did not want to insinuate something as I do not believe you were bragging. You are clearly a vocal chap and that is good although sometimes you may get knee deep in the crap. But hey it comes with the territory.

My post was in no way intended to be negative, just some thoughts on why there were few responses. From my experience perceived "negative" posts will get more comments. Just look what sells newspapers, not happy stories but stories of death and destruction.

Keep on being who you are and I see no need to remove this thread.

Hi All, I'm not handling the money, so have no idea where the fund stands. Western Cape Microlight Club (Morph) will meet tonight and give us feedback.
Cheers
