Flight Simulator Yokes and Rudder Pedals...

Postby Trikenut » Mon Sep 22, 2008 1:11 pm

Hey All,
I love to use Microsoft Flight Simulator.
I want to mimick a Boeing/Cessna etc and would need a Yoke instead of a Joystick and rudder pedals.
Does anyone know where in CT I can find such equipment? :? :?
Cheers

I built a set of rudder pedals complete with toe-brakes years ago when computers still had joystick ports. Google it - sure you will find a good set of plans somewhere!

You can use the pedal part of a racing wheel but the pedals are not linked like a real rudder.

the problem with the normal stuff, is that they are individually spring driven, i.e. when you push the right forward, the left does not move. What should happen is they should work against each other

Wings and Things in JHB have some expensive stuff from CH products

Otherwise make your own here http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main ... rudped.htm

you have to somehow suspend your joystick upside down. This will automatically swop left and right, i.e. push left to go right and vice-versa. Then using the settings in Flight Sim reverse the elevator function, i.e. forward will go up and back down. Make a trapese bar and firmly attach it to your joystick. Reassign your left pedal to brake and right to accelerator, viola, should work
