Re: Tornado at Contermanskloof

Cape Town - Gale-force winds and heavy rain caused widespread destruction in several parts of the Western Cape over the weekend. Power failures occurred extensively and snow-covered areas were cut off from the outside world.

In one of the worst incidents, seven people were injured when part of the roof at the Pick 'n Pay Hypermarket in Ottery collapsed.

An unprecedented gale at the Contermanskloof Flying Club near Durbanville caused millions of rands' worth of damage to aircraft sheds and small planes.
Finally News24 placed something and got it right!

I popped in there yesterday morning. The pictures you see here does not tell the WHOLE story of the devastation. Its MUCH worse in real life. To see the guys faces was terrible and you can do ABSOLUTELY nothing about it. VERY VERY sad indeed.

Hi Folks , its unbeleiveable , just a great thanks that no one was hurt .
We had a similar one a few years ago at Rhino Park , hangars were rolled up , but the planes had very little / negligble damage , Leprachaun

Just a seriously hollow feeling in the gut looking at those photos. Really feel for you. So sorry to see your planes in this state. Words cannot say what the feeling is. So sorry :(
