Being one who does'nt like talking k@k, I tried to boycot this thread but......

Maybe have another section like "Pub talk" not stricktly related and will save those who don't want to venture there. Bandwith, mods .....ok, ok.

Well I dunno about that unless you go and read for instance the 123.45 forum which I have not for some time - which then you have to expect that type of post. But if you stick to the serious fora there - they are generally mostly sensible arguments. Take for instance the main General forum - they are all aviation related subjects and cover topics that you and I both are interested in - take for instance the comparison running at present between the Bushbaby and Cubby. Both are almost micro type interests. Also no progress is made without some argument - as long as it is the ball played, and not the player.

Also on the point of not wanting to happen to us - in any environment, add enough people and the chances are that you will get more and very diverse opinions and even more that will stick to their convictions and defend where they believe necessary. This happens both in the digital and real spaces.

Reading all the comments and the issues are as follows

if you post something of common interest to all, jokes, situations etc it's all groovy

But when there are posts about the big no-nos, i.e. strong religeous convictions, especially comparing or criticising other religeons, politics, racism, hate speach, personal attacks, etc then blam I send them out to space. They stir up emotions and offer no value to this forum, except expose those exercising their views as bigots etc etc.

BTW I generally will allow something marginal to stand, but if it starts to stir we stop it, or lock it, or zap it.

Hi all
Just reading this topic from the top gives me a great vhpy ....why it starts off "serious" and then just wanders away to ($$) ($$) ($$) .We have our crap talking site right here and we don't even fight....ok as long as we don't mention stuff from the big office in Midrand.Even the softness and the kids enjoy some of the chit chat.
Well done to mod's on the forum for keeping it that way .(^^) (^^)
So what - wood can also fly!

I think the forum is well kept - good balance between aviation and non aviation.

!!!! to the moderators. You're handling of sensitive posts are cool - let it go, a fingertapping if s117 and then s067 if it gets out of hand.

skybound® wrote:Just did a quick count of topics on the first page of Hangar Talk and 18 out of 43 topics had zero relation to flying (although I am sure anyone clever enough can bring in a aviation spin on any subject). Hence we can conclude the kak praat is already happening to a large degree some of them even with political subject lines.

So what was your question again slysi :?:

Wow, don't I feel like an idiot for starting the thread. Score so far slysi 0, rest of forum 1653 :!:

Like I (tried) to say, I in no way support religous and political debate here. So I agree with everyone (i think). It is nice to see some humour now and then though.

Right...TOPIC CLOSED :!: :!: :!:
