CHARGIN
Hi I fitted a volt meter on my 582 and a set of spotlights and a feul pump ELECT and now it seems as if the lights are drawing more current out of the batt than is been put back. I fitted a relay and while i fly at 5800rpm the volt meter drops slowly down to 11 volts .When i do not use the lights and the pump all seems fine and the charging stays at 13.2 volts.
Re: CHARGIN
What power are the lights? Nothing more than 55 watt I hope. I have a pair of 55 Watt downlighters on the tips of the wings. With them on the charging voltage drops by about 0.6 to 0.8V. The idea is not to fly with it on continuously. However if it is drawing it down to 11V then your charging circuit is a problem or the lights are too heavy

Re: CHARGIN
I stay clear of the kudus and when i see them i switch the lights off because the kudu likes to jump for the lights.
Morph the bulbs are the 55watt but i wonder if the gauge is rite or the batt is not fully charged . i only use them if there is other traffic in the surkit. While we on the toppick of lights some people have been asking about strobe lights,i baught a strobe light from our security firm in town and they are of the small ones only problem is they are red.

Sorry for you! You can only install it on the left side then...........BOATCH wrote:I baught a strobe light from our security firm in town and they are of the small ones only problem is they are red.

Airspeed, altitude, or brains....you always need at least two

Don't forget to tell the person which side is actually the "left" side (port).................i.o.w is left the "left" of the pilot with hom sitting in the cockpit OR is left the "left" of the pilot facing the A/C!

Re: CHARGIN
HI there I am glad to report on my charging problem,i found a loose wire on the back of the ignition switch. I put the wire back on its place and walla, the charging is back to 13.5 with the lights on and the feul pump,so thanks to all that gave their input
