Number of Licensed Microlight Pilots
Is it possible to obtain the official number of current, licensed Microlight pilots in South Africa from somewhere?

Logic says it would be the licensing authority. SACAA. Let us know when you get it.

With the CAA not keeping accurate records regards ratings on an individual licence etc, you would probably have to make some adjustment for the amount of PPLs, CPLs and ATPs that fly micros on their licences too.

Accepted, but surely they should have some sort of data base where you type in the word "MPL" and you'll get an answer ?
However, having read the recent interview between Guy from SA Flyer and Colin Jordaan, it does sound as if they (SACAA) were further down the tubes than we thought. Well, at least untill Colin took over !
