Hi all
From all that I could gather, the mountains seem to be 'n bit of a problem. Does John"s route via Loeriesfontein sound the safest?
I had in mind to go as follows: FAFK to Beaufort-west to Colesburg to Bloem to Bethlehem and then the homerun to Standerton. What problems do you antisipate? Also thought taking someone to be a ground-crew. Will it be a problem to travel the loeriesfontein route by car?
Thanx
Don

Mountains are not a problem, just go HIGH...
Loeries would not be a problem by road, but if you take ground crew you can make your own route..... I would then go straight as possible as you not reliant on favours for fuel...
Your route sounds easily doable even without ground crew. Maybe get Ground crew to meet you at first/second stop, especially if they driving down...

Hi flywild,
I got this excel spreadsheet from another forum. It lists airfields as well as contact persons in case of an emergency. I’m sure you can contact these people for stopover’s, feul etc

Hi Thi
Thanx friend! I'm sure this will help a lot.
I really appreciate your help.
To all you microlighters. You are invited to visit at any time. The airfield is between Standerton and Morgenzon. Ideal for a Saturday/Sunday outing. Let me know. I nice braai and sleepover is just as welcome.
Regards
Don
