old fuel?

How long can you store fuel in your tank before it becomes a hazzard. The fuel in this case is premix and for a 582. Is there a time limit? I have heard that old fuel can cause engine outs etc

Don't premix until you need to add it to the plane. Premixing seems the accelerate the loss of octane value in the fuel

If it get's old, put it in the car ( the 2 stroke oil will cause a bit of smoke but nothing serious) and buy new fuel

It won't stop the motor, just your performance reduces, and you only have a little 500cc 2 stroke keeping you in the air and you need all the performance you can get.

Says he with the 4 stroke 912. Rub it in, rub it in. My 503 is bobaas. Gets me to 10 200 ft chop chop. So damn cold up there i create my own turbulence by shivering. Ok now back to the fuel issue. I agree morph. Buy fuel when you need it. If you have fuel standing around then you don't fly enough, Klaar en verby!

Thanx for the tip, i will put the old fuel in my car or bike and i dont care if they misfire or run rough but i will do anything within my power and pocket to fly safely.

On reading the accident forum i get the horrors when i read about engine failures etc. The safety of the 582 should be no mistry.
