Cool by me as long as we don't have to commit to the 250 persons. That would be a challange

Morph, I don't think 125 couples is too much to ask for. But then again

Morph, Just to clear up any confusion. Max they can accommodate is 250 in total.
Final numbers only need to be confirmed one week prior. But we have to cover
Venue hire is R 4650
Band R 3000.
Buffet R 212.85pp

I've suggested R 250pp which means R37.15 pp goes to band and room hire. To cover R7650 we need min 200 persons.

So maybe we should push up the price a tad to R550 per couple. (to cover less numbers) Any profit can go to Microlighters?
If you agree with this I can go ahead and we take it from there.
I will be soliciting some sponsorship which could affect the pricing, but we cant rely on this.

I have a potential sponsor which will hopefully reduce ticket prices drastically.
I will make all the info available once I've confirmed all arrangements.

Thanks my bud, That will be great. Had a meeting at Wintervogel yesterday to discuss this Ball. They are all in and willing to help too. Superb committments. The BALL will now be a Wintervogel Club Project and as we have NO ONE to have to answer to or get permissions or a go ahead from, out of respect we wish to run the Christmas Ball idea past the chairmans of Fisantekraal and Morning Star and hopefully get their sanctioning as well before we 'push the button'.
Maybe you can do that for me as I do not know these guys personally. or I can ask Morph to run the idea by them.
Thanks.

Great idea of yours Grumpy. In the meeting yesterday we also played with the idea of making this an AVIATORS ball ( to get to the 200 - 250 people more easily ). It will give more publicity to Grumpy's possible sponsor ( and MAYBE get the price of the tickets down a bit )and by that we can also invite the guys from Stellenbosch with the blik earie's. Still going as "organized by the Wintervogel MICROLIGHTERS "and open to everybody thats flying. I think it will be a great idea to get to know the other guys that flies as well.
Our friends from Morningstar we EXPECT to be there in all their glory.
Can we have any comments on the abovementioned idea maybe?

Thanks Grumpy for the inisiative so far. I think its a GREAT idea.

Great idea. I think the minimum sponsorship we should aim for is the aprox R8000-00 to secure and cover the venue and live band. Then the buffet dinner dance would be the R219 odd rand per person but no matter how many tickets we sell the venue and band remains secure. Should we get better sponsorship than the 8k rand it can then go to reduce ticket prices. (**)
