Yes Loehle I agree,

Priester, that remark was a but harsh. You have no idea of Loehle's motivation as to why he calls the Bush Baby boring. But that is not a harsh statement. To a jet jock, or a aerobatic champion the Bush Baby is boring. Just a matter of opinion that's all (I am a Bush Baby pilot, before you throw something back at me as well)

Loehle, fortunately Priester is not the only member on this site and does not represent the general sentiment of the members. Unfortunately we are at a slight disadvantage in that majority of the pilots here are Microlighters, flying established factory or kit built aircraft. There are the odd few like Tailspin, who dabble in the experimental EAA type aircraft.

I find it strange that you could not get information from EAA, which afterall is what that organisation is about

Hang around, start flying again, enjoy Microlighters and the sky

Judging from your nickname...

http://www.loehle.com/SpitfireKit.htm

To be quite honest, to own a Bushbaby, Cheetah or Bantam for that matter in comparison to a 3/4 scale Spitfire would be a tad boring!

It's a case of different strokes(2) for different strokes(4) for different folks....

Yes Priester... don't become like Chucky...

Chunky is my role model :)

I may not be able to compare with the midget Spittie, but I also own a RV6, which is not to tatty either.

Morfie, I apologise if I hurt someones feelings. Please confirm you are moving that errant wheel to it's proper location, or must I instruct Superboet to do so? :?

Just out of interest, how does the RV6 compare to the RV7. I am bout to order an RV7 from Robin Coss but have also be told to have a look at a few RV6's from the States as patience is not one of my forte's.

I had a look at a brand new RV9 last weekend. The guys had a bit of extra padding on the seat and thus I was sitting with my head just touching the canopy. I know the RV6 is slightly smaller than the RV7 but how much I am not sure.

What sort of cruise speeds do you get in your 6 and and what type of engine do you have fitted?

Cannot compare with the RV7 as I haven't flown in one. I don't really know what the difference is. I have a O 360 fitted (180hp) and will block around 160kt at 75% power. I haven't had it very long so I am guessing a bit.

I am probably also going 180 hp with CS prop. I suppose it would perform similar to yours. Just out of interest, what did it set you back?

What is the registarion of your RV and do you have any photo's?

So pleased you could frequent our forum again Chunky.... Thought you had been caught up in the turmoil of AVCOM? ## Robin has a fantastic RV for sale at the moment... I am not sure if it has been sold outright or check out my quote..
Hi John
We have two shares in an RV7a up for grabs. The aircraft will be based in Cape Town. It will be a three-share ownership in total with a couple of extra selected pilots on the insurance producing extra revenue towards running costs.
R285 000.00 per share + VAT ..... Robin Coss
One thing about RCA is the build quality that comes out of his factory. I was there when they putting the finishing touches on the Spitties wing and boy didn't that aerie turn out great! That Spittie was orbiting over my house in Blaauberg when the Sasol Tiger went down at Milnerton. Watched from my balcony
They were also still busy building ZU-TEN at the time...

I am envious of you priester. Van's Aircraft are just in a class of their own. One day when I'm beeeeg like Chunky, I might have the funds available to embark on a journey of a 7a / 9a or 10!

If I go the RCA route I will have a new RV built. The RV7 he has for sale is going for the same price if not more than a new one. The only difference is you have to wait.

Been told that 'Misbehavin' will be avaialable for around R 1050000 plus vat. If that is the case I will rather spend a little extra and wait a few months (about 12) and get one that is fully IF rated exactly how I want it.

Just out of interest, there is a guy in Durban who is building a 7 for someone else I know. Damn, if you think Robins work is good you must see this work of art. He charges about 200k more for the build and takes a little longer but its exceptional.

There is also a group in PE but I havent seen any of their planes yet. I think RCA is still the best bet at the moment. He also is available to start building almost immediately at the moment as he has dedicated teams on each type(7,9 and 10s).

I trust RCA's build quality. Robin is a No Bullshit type of guy and always friendly .... The advantage he has is the connection he has with Van's. He has built a whole lot of them!

The PE guys have a website www.rvbuilders.co.za
