direct subscribers pay per issue, not per annum - subs are carried forward so no one loses out.
Of course they lose out, one subscribes for 6 issues per annum.if they only receive 2 then they have lost out on 4. They may get their 6 issues over 3 years but that is not what they subscribed for. I paid for 6 per annum, not for 6 issues at time intervals as yet unknown. Tell me when I pay that its for 6 issues at a rate of 2 - 6 year and I will live with it, but dont tell me its for 6 a year and give me 2. Then tell me there will be an issue every 6 weeks to make up. Then only get the 2nd one a few months later and tell me there will be at 3 before the year ends.

I believe one (3rd for 2007) was posted in Dec but I have yet to receive it?

The mag when we get it is fantastic and a great read but that is why we subscribe so it does not make up for poor supply.

Thats my rant of the week.going to check my box again for issue 3.....and 4

Hi Gert

Would you please be so kind and explain to me, in detail, what procedures I should follow to subscribe to African Skies. My admin skills suck and a few pointers would be great.

Dankie by voorbaat
Francois, is jy bef%k?

Trix,

Your message refers:

Posted: Tue Jan 08, 2008 7:50 am Post subject:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Subscriber copies have been posted, and I generally carry current & back copies with me if you need.

When were the copies posted to the 'subscribers' as I have just been to the post office again and still no mag ?????

I subscribed with you (not Misasa) in March last year and have to date received only two copies of the mag, ie. The one with the Snake formation team on the cover and the other with the GT450 flying over the river on the cover.

In other words if the mag was poasted in December, when it was published, I should have received a copy by now.

Please advise

Gavin, I received the same excuse from "the scribe" about lack of content blah blah ($$)

So I wrote three articles which were published (as far as a I know) - yet I have still to see a single issue.
Now the excuses seem to be about the Post office.
I'm in advertising and receive copies of virtually every magazine that is published in South Africa every month. Strangely enough they all seem to manage to arrive through the post without fail, with the exception of one... no prizes for guessing which one.
Here's the reality of the situation. African Skies is supposedly a professional publication which enjoys the *luxury" of pre-paid subscriptions via the various microlighting body memberships - and this should go a long way towards covering publication costs. And yes - that should include sourcing and paying for written content! In my opinion the excuses, which flow like air over a wing, from the scribes slippery tongue are tenuous indeed. Frankly the whole state of affairs smacks of an utter lack of professionalism. In my opinion the microlight associations need to suspend any and all member contributions to this rag.
I appreciate that the scribe is well known amongst the microlight fraternity, but sadly this is a leading example of why one should not mix business with pleasure.

Not this again!? Don't you guys learn. I subscribed initially and received 4 copies.

Instead of wasting more of my time on AS/T, I decided to let it go and put it down as a lesson learnt about dishonesty.

I haven't bothered subscribing after listening to everyone's complaints. Maybe we should support African Pilot instead.

So come on Marius, are you guys going to have a permanent section for microlighters in African Pilot?
Maybe we can convince MISASA to align with African Pilot now...
