If i do my MPL training on a certain trike model (Aquilla 502) can i fly a different model (Polaris skin or Aerotrike)
The reason why I am asking, is I first want to finish my training before i buy anything.
Don't want to buy a trike and for some, reason cannot finish my training and then have something i am not allowed to use.
In putts welcome

Hi Zulu4,
You get different codes for different trikes eg, Aquilla is Z159, Cobra Z149 etc..etc.. All you need is a conversion and you get that code endorsed on your license as well.
Ask your instructor to do the conversions with you during your training.

Welcome Zulu4
finish your training on the Aquilla. This will licence you to fly any 503/582 based Aquilla. Then once you find the trike you want to buy, that is not an Aquilla, you do a simple conversion, which is a lesson or two with an instructor and viola you now have an additional trike on your licence.
All you do is find an instructor who is rated on the other trike. make an appointment. Go for a flight with him. If he is happy, he signs you out, updates your logbook and gives you a piece of paper you send to CAA. simple.
