Postby jjdt » Tue Apr 22, 2008 8:34 pm

This is my first post, but lurking for some time on the site, reason for this post, will be in Margate next week from the 28th for my anual holiday, any change of an early morning or late afternoon flip along the coast, normally see some trike's along the coast when I am on holiday in Margate en ja, I will pay my share of the cost

Can't give you a flip down near Margate but if you are in the Cato Ridge area you are welcome any time to contact me. It would be a pleasure to show you around our patch.

Sorry can't offer a flight on the coast but if you venture to the Midlands will be pleased to show you this part of the world.

I am based in the Hilton-Howick area.

Sorry for the hijack, but I have the same request. Will be in Berg or Midlands (not sure yet) for this coming weekend and then Ballito area for rest of next week. I would love to flip or even hire and fly. Would be happy to pay and buy beer.
Can anyone help? (Zulu1???)

Hi Andre

If you are in the Midlands let me know, it would be great to meet you and also do a bit of flying.

Wart - I will be in Nottingham Rd area Mon to Wed and then to Ballito, so will miss you (you going to Rand airshow?).
James - thanks for the offer. I will call when I am in Notts. Would love a flip on Tue or Wed.
Paul has also offers to take me for a flip along the coast.
Now all I need is somone who will hire me their plane for an hour or so in the Ballito area.

Thanks guys!! This is what the Microlighting fraternity is all about. I have never met such a close knit bunch of guys before! Hopefully I can reciprocate in the future.

Paul, Wart and James. Thanks for the great offer of flying whilst down in KZN. Unfortunatley I didn't even bother calling you guys as the weather was so rotten. I did manage to speak to Paul, but we didn't get to fly the biplane.
Saw some guys flying north to south over Blythdale on Saturday morning....was green with envy as we were packing to leave!

Thanks again for the offers and I hope to take you up on them some time in the future. In the meantine Microland is always open to you!

Sorry that the weather did not play along, still managed to get a couple of hours in when it was flyable.

Saturday was the best and managed to take a few friends for a flip.

Well, I did manage to get my flip down the coast, from Shelly beach to Margate in a R44 ZS PLI with a good looking lady pilot, and no, I did not ask her name (250 rand for the flip,) the flip was short but I actually saw parts of that area for the first time from the air and it was most enjoyable.

PLI was kept busy with pleasure flips the whole of last week, passing past the holiday cottage where I was staying.

Must say, the weather was crappy last week, but this week very good weather, actually saw 2 trike’s doing late afternoon circuits.
Also 04, (training school) was very active with a number of landings and touch and go’s at Margate airport.

Now back in Gauteng again, still week of annual leave left and then back to the salt mine.
