Vissit to NW Cape

Postby cutman » Sat Apr 05, 2008 1:25 pm

Hi Everybody,

I've just returned form a vissit to the NW Cape.We went down on the 1 Time bus that flies and hired a car in CT.We decided to stay over in Piketberg and found a nice guest house close to the top of the mountain.Waking up the next morning I was greeted with the sound of microlight engines and low and behold a couple of them crossed right over me and landed aprox 3 k's from me on the ridge of the mountain.Must say that it made my day and I was wondering who it was,but due to time constraints I couldn't vissit with them. This happened on the 31/3/08.From Piketberg we went up country to as far as Vanrhynsdorp but never saw any other crazy people like me.It's a great area to fly in.

Cheers

There's a guy up there that has a farm on top of the mountain. Fly's a Sting. Hendrik. Used fly a Magni but crashed it a few years back. The bloke next dooor is Chris Watson grows Buchu and other stuff. He fly's a trike from the top aswell.Know Chris as we trained more or less at the same time around 2002. It looks stunning not sure if I would like to land there though.
