Acording to the manual it looks like it needs to be inspected at 600Hrs and replaced at 1200Hrs.

Does the closed loop fuel injection recycle the fuel already used, thus improving endurance indefinitely?

Closed-loop system programs the fuel injection system while you fly
•No wrenching, no dyno tuning, no need for constant adjustments – just start up and go .
•Increases horsepower and torque by as much as 20% along with a decrease in emissions and fuel consumption
•Fully automatic dynamic tuning with a Rotax Platinum II oxygen sensor
•Coordinates the factory ECU calibration, updated calibration and race-tuned calibrations
•Coordinates the factory ignition and fuel tables by utilizing the factory preset altitude sensor
•Operates using the Alpha rpm and throttle position detector
•Over-molded, sealed, surface-mounted circuit board design
•Installs by connecting just six wires and the O2 sensor
•Made in Austria

Starting to look like a JETSKI forum..... if only they would use some of the awesome solutions they have in JETSKI's and offer it to AVIATION!

But ok, Part 24 still not resolved, ROTAX issues have left an aftertaste in our mouths methinks!

If not mistaken, the REDTOP comes off a 583 and is used in SKIDOOS. Pushes some 100HP's and is in essence the same as a 582!

IF ONLY SIR, IT WAS NOT APRIL 1!

Byron

In essence, not so far fetched info by Mike.... actually sort of factual!

Snippets of technical specs from various Rotax / Seadoo / Skidoo confirms this!

Could actually be an awesome aerie engine!

Don,t feel bad, at least you were a good sports.
In the U.S. and the E.U. 2 stroke engines have been banned due to stringent emission regulations. I think that 582 production will soon cease.
The good news is that Rotax will be underpressure to replace the 582 with an afordable 4 stoke.

If you look at all the new Jet-ski`s ,( As Bad-nav mentioned ) they all now fitted with 4 stroke engines with superchargers or turbo chargers, fuel inj. and so on.Maybe that,s an indication of what,s to come for the Microlighting industry ??
