What GPS to go for in a Gyro
I use the 296 on my Magni and it fits nicely in the top centre of the instrument panel and it's nicely visible. I use a ram mount system http://www.ram-mount.com with a short stub to mount it to the panel, so its easy to remove and adjust. The 196 and 296 has the same form factor, so it should fit at the top of the Magni panel or the bottom right of a standard ELA panel.

The 296 does come with a bracket, but it mounts very close to the panel and can only swivel vertically. Using the ram mount moves it away from the panel (closer to the eyes) and clear of obscrtucting the instruments. You can also swivel it in any direction or angle.
Sorry, I should have given the SA website http://www.ram-mount.co.za/ram_parts.htm. I use RAM-B-238 on the panel, RAM-202 at the back of the GPS (it fits perfectly in the space allowed on the back of the bracket) and RAM-101 to connect the two. You can phone Max (his real name is unpronouncable) on 082 440 1835.

I bought my GPS and ram-mount from them last year.
Good luck

Hi,
You can try the following two SA site's:
http://www.ip.co.za/index.htm
They do interface products and GPS, as well as cable requirements
http://www.gps-shop.co.za/shop/default.asp
GPS, Maps, pda etc
Cheers
Gert
