I like the idea of a newbie thread just knowing that other guys (and girls) are going throught the same emotions as I am.

I'm doing GPL out at Brakpan.
Also had some serious introspection after, what to me was, a very bad landing last Friday. I keep telling myself "see it thru" "Fly the picture".
I've learned a lot from reading the chats of the experienced guys on this forum whether it's GPL or MPL, it's all valuable knowledge.

We value your input and experience.

Jaaa. I is a lifelong student flying from Witbank. Started on gliders, went solo on trikes, now flying two-and-a-half axis (Quicksilver MXII) dual. What next? Who cares as long as I'm flying! vhpy
Had quite a variety of 'rides' last weekend - from Pilatus Porter PC6 (6000ft/min descent) to Cessna 206T (paradropping at night) to the little MXII. Becoming a professional passenger. 8)

It happens - Best is to just try learn from it for the next one.

Went solo for PPL on the cessna this morning at Lanseria, good feeling but not quite the same as is was the first time on the Thunderbird

BTW microlight flying is much more difficult then the heavier PPL aeries so dont worry when you hear of the PPL guys going solo at much less hours then you

Thought for the day

If you have less than 10 000 hours flying experience, you are still a student of the game and you are still learning.

You will keep learning from your own mistakes (and / or use the more intelligent option of learning from the mistakes made by others).

It will be a dire and dangerous day should I wake up one morning with an attitude of …

“That’s it - now I know everything there is to know about flying” :!:

I am a student at Centurion Flight School! I remember from my Airforce days when the chopper pilots alway use to say (I quote) "to fly is heaven but to hover is divine"! Today I have to say "to hover is probably heaven but to glide is definately devine"!

If you ask Flo nicely and you are a student, he might be able to make a plan :)

Hangerage at Aero 57?

Henni, you have a better chance of becoming pregnant - (I know you and I might look pregnant  )

Closest for you Henni will be Lasertronics - Or just come to FAAP and call it a day - 2 minutes flight to Harties, 10 to Roodekoppies, wind hardly ever blows, it don't get better - But I have told you this before Henni

Has anyone tried Armand at Eagles Creek? Right next to N14 just before the 511 at Diepsloot. There are a couple buildings and 1 or 2 aeries that live there. He was advertising hangars at one stage, but I think if you build your own he may be willing to accommodate?
