618 Rotax Advise Required

Postby wvbosch » Sat Mar 01, 2008 3:52 pm

Hi, I need some input on the 618 Rotax motors. I notice that they were discontinued. Is it difficult to find parts for them because of this, are the parts more expensive? What are your thoughts on this motor?
Thanks for your input. (-)

I had no problems getting spares from Aviation Engines.

Parts are not a problem at all and the pricing is the same as the 582.

It is a great engine and I think it is quite sad that Rotax discontinued it. I have one on the Rans S12 (ex Vernon !) with about 490 hours on it now.

Rudi

Parts are readily available, I am currently busy with my upgrade from a 503 to the 618. Completed the ground runs succesfully. All spares are available from Aviation Engines.
