Andre, thought you were from Deben
Andre, close but take a look in the background you will see the dam wall, we call it Jicas mountain half way between Ballito and Cato Fridge. Yes its Inanda dam. The pilot is Dave Jackson. The take off is off a sheer cliff with a 500 ft drop and is a truly awesome part of the world to view from.
But well done anyway.
Next round the North of KZN as a clue up front.
Maybe we should make a Microlighters Aerial South Africa coffee table book Demon, I have a heap of pics I did with a free lance photographer around Swaziland for the French press and also MTN (their year book). Literally thousands but at this stage still trying to fox Andre !!
Ciao Paul

OK Andre
I have had quite a few pics posted in several magazines both here and overseas. I have always wanted to do the project but it takes time and money but also someone has to champion it. Really quite a project but with our combined resources it would be a really awesome experience. Just say the entire forum took pics on a "given weekend" as well as what we all have in stock it would make one mean book. The entire country would be covered, one shot and wouldn't take much motivating.
Take a look at this Golf Course, great to land on..

Demon please its my turf..
I have many pics of Spioenkop and Dragons Peak.
Did many Brit tourist flights over there. The main trench is where the Lancashire Regiment is buried. The name Spioenkop is the Kop end of Liverpool, Birmingham city and Sheffield United soccer grounds.
What was most interesting about the battle is the major players: Brit side, Buller, Kitchener and Gandhi. Boer side Jan Smuts, Deneys Reitz. All fought together in WW2 and Jan Smuts responsible for the formation of the RAF. will try to dig up some pics of the bridges blown up before Estcourt (behind Ultra City) and that wall.
I have the entire route of the battle on film.
Well done Paul

The Gun run
Actually thats where i meant as i spent two years at FALY and studied the war. From ground and air as I was away from home, took my old plane with me. Learnt so much from the Brits.
Anyway the interesting one is the site at Swartkops overlooking Vaalkraantz where the Brits carried some gun kits up a stupid bank. The tracks are still visible and it was the origin of the Brit Navy Gun Run. I am looking for the pics and will post them. Its just down the valley towards the N3 Barry. The cross opposite Spioenkop site is where Buller watched the battle. if you dont know the area you would never ever find it. Spioenkop lodge is in the front of your pic, very interesting view point.
You can land on the road on the right hand side of your pic.
