New toy

Postby MJ » Mon Jan 07, 2008 3:09 pm

Hi everyone,

Got one very nice Christmas box for myself :D  :D . It is yellow and it flies like nothing else. All the nice things everyone writes on the GT450 cannot describe the real thing, there is only one way and that is to have one and find out every day how much nicer it flies than any other aircraft. All I can say is that once you have flown in one it WILL cost you BIG MONEY.

I Fly from Kroon airfield 2 miles north-east of the red and white radio mast on the Magalies mountain, lots of nice game farms and dams to see.

Hi All
Brand new here, and looking forward to learning a lot from the "ubber" lightwieght flyers :D
Don't fly anything from anywhere....yet, up to this point all my flying has been in Wichata heavy iron, currently based out at FAGM but grew up at FABB
I am looking into building an A-Plane, or Affordaplane to hop over the bushes with and join you guys for morning brekkies.
Anyone know if there are any flying here yet, or any under construction.
What are your guys....and ladies thoughts on this little aerial tricycle :?:
Living here on the highveld, I would look at fitting it with a 582 as opposed to the suggested 447 to give it some extra, get "off the ground"
Any thoughts?

Welcome coastwise. Please post some pictures. Where will you be hangering in Port Alfred? At 43 Air School? That should be exciting.

Hi Griffin.
Will be hangaring the plane at hangars on the opposite side of the airport to the air school. Place is called Albany Air Park. They don't have any hangars for private individuals at the air school, and they are full of
bullsh!t anyway. I was doing my PPL with thembefore deciding to change to MPL, more fun. Only one guy has some space in his hangar, going to charge me R500 a month. What is the average charge for hangarage for a trike in other areas? Feel the charge is a bit much for a plane that takes up very little space.

Hi,
I'm a newbie on this sight, so let me introduce myself.
My name is Dirk van Dort, i fly a Bantam B22J from our airstrip at Lydenburg. Although the bug has always been there, the opportunity to learn to fly only presented itself late in life after i retired. I soloed and bought my Bantam at 63 years of age 3 years ago, and have never looked back, loving every minute of it.
Thanks for a wonderful forum on which to learn and share.
Kind regards,
Dirk
