Mary Stevens from SACAA posted on Avcom a while ago ...

Language proficiency was deferred for MPL until 1 June 2008.

Only PPL, CPL, HPL was still affected.

Now the whole thing is being scrapped. However, in Capt. Colin Jordaan's letter dated 15 February 2008, no mention is made about MPL.

I'm just wondering as to how many guys on this forum has afrikaans as their mother language?? Many of us have no problems with english and is sometimes better at it, because we talk and write a lot of it in this forum.

I'm not trying to degrade the test, this is just for "nice to know".

Does anyone know if it applies to GPL?

Dont think I could find my matric certificate to prove Eng 1st language if I tried and it was so long ago I just know the Dept Of Education's records are in the same state as CAA and ICASA. In other words, non-existent.

WE all share the same airspace..... MPL PPL GPL etc. However, how many of us are going to share the same airspace with a Slovak/Russian/German etc over Europe?

I think they should have started with ATC's first.... Flew back a Jab 430 from Vryburg to Kimberley....

West sector fine.... Central fine.... FAKM BEE..... Say again please!

Been listening to the tower..... machine gune reports.....
