Good Morning gentlemen. Yesterday was one of those brutally hot days. 37 deg in the workshop. I was too bushed last night to even look at my computor..... Feeling much better this morning. vhpy In spite of the heat we got some work done yesterday. The flapperons have been fitted and the set-up done, amongst others. Gunther, the space between the firewall and the backside of the engine will be closed off with a fibreglass cowling. Already made, but can only be fitted once the exhaust collector ring is fitted. As I do not have that part yet........Andre?.......George????? Yes, and red is my favourite trim colour as well. vhpy vhpy

Today it was not so terribly hot. At least we saw some clouds, and although it did not rain here, it rained a bit around us. Hope for better luck tomorrow. Today we fitted the front window and a lot of small things that take up a LOT of time. Note, it now sports a set of hub-caps. Must I leave them shiny, or must I paint them white? Pic is as I said goodbye to the Animal for the weekend. vhpy

Radials....

Postby John Boucher » Sat Feb 09, 2008 9:59 am

That is such an awesome looking radial..... I would not even consider closing it just to show off!

Have a look at the Boeing Stearman PT-17 Kaydet... But if you have to, then the Boeing Stearman 450 should do the trick!

Decisions.....

Looks great Boet.... I bet you can't wait George?

Sorry for the silent spell gentlemen, last weekend we had 5 inches of rain here ( 50mm  ) Then the weather-gods played a nasty trick on me. A bolt of lightning struck my building, took out my computor (R8000 damage  , my telephones AND my fax machine. All moertoe. Kisboude, zag. Forunately the whole sorry-ass lot has been insured.... I am using this standby computor. it is kinda old. ( We call it "Noag". And for good reason.) Ssssssllllllllllooooooowwwwww, and for this very reason you will not be seeing a lot of pictures soon. I HOPE to have my new `un up and running by Monday.
Right now I am a lite down-hearted with all the shit flying around in our community. You HAVE, no, SHALL do this, and you SHALL do that. This new attitude makes me feel like I`m back in the f`in army. The irony is, all this new laws seems to be to get the illegal fliers back into line. Now we have to suffer, and the illegal flyers are still flying illegally....but I think their ranks are swelling.

My new computor is up and running! I have now come to a stage of the Animal`s construction, where I need certain components to be able to carry on with the work. Tecnically if we fire the engine up now, it can go fly. Will be slightly noisy, and no instruments or radio........ You can go to the Rotec Radial Aircraft site, and download a short clip of the small radial engine start up. Goosebumps :!: :!: I can`t wait to go fly this one :!: :!: vhpy vhpy vhpy

Hi Boet.

It is small details, such as these drag reduction struts, that make Boet's airies the best in the west.
