Sunday flying.........

Postby Slider » Mon Jan 28, 2008 7:13 am

Yesterday morning after a coffee break, I flew into Petit. I saw a aircraft from the Springs, on route to Microland and then to Harties. I thought I could catch up on him and take some pictures......”JA right windgat”........ It was a Cheetah and if he didn’t wait for me and slowed down to a crawl, I would NEVER have taken these pics.

Thanks sir, it was an honor to fly with you

Hi Slider , without trying to hijack your post I was wondering what distance the strip that runs parallel to the road is at Que Sera , and whether it would be safe to come in with a gyro . I see trees onthe one side and a high tower and power lines on the other.

Yesterday the boys were wheeliing up and down so probably not a good idea on a suday morning as this is the bikers time to play.

regards

Hi

I think its around 200 to 300 meters, but because you land uphill (From north) and take off, from the south, its fine. Some small trees on the left side (If you land from north). The easiest way to see if you will be ok, is to go to Facebook and my group called "Microlight flying in South Africa". I have some photos and videos of T/O and landings at QS

Hope this helps

PS Sunday mornings are not to bad, but let us know when and we will joinin

PSs  My MP3 is still working
