The weght issue regards only being enforced from 1 June means that they will only police it from them - remember if you do have an accident - bet your bottom dollar the insurers will enforce it immediately.
Also heard about the AP list being trimmed somewhat. Trimming also included some AMEs and AMOs that were not rated to sign out the aircraft that they were signing off inspections forms for. An AME or AMO also has to comply to the same rules as the AP and be rated on type.

Best to speak directly to the guys from CAA.
Mathew Eschman (Spelling ?) works at the CAA in licensing. He is the local CTsw agent. According to him from 1 june 2008 all owners of aircraft registered as microlights that fall out of the weight category will be notified with regards to the license issue. They are apparently goint ot be very strict on this issue.
The point about the sport license was also raised and apparently the sport pilot license will have the same ciriculum as a PPL just less the 5 hours instruments. It requires that same exams and the same flight test. There is also going to be no automatic carry over from your MPL to SPL only the 10 hours credit if flown on a 3 axis aircraft. The only difference will be the medical required will be class 4.
If that is the case why even wait for the Sport Pilot License, just get a PPL.
