MPL on what type of aircraft?

3-axis you can just do a conversion, any Microlight or PPL instructor can do it for you. The Microlight aircraft are Z coded, i.e. Bushbaby is Z010

Trike you will have to fly dual with an instructor until you go solo, anything from 10 to 25 hours.

That's it I think, no need for cross countries, ground school, radio etc, since you know it all anyway. :D

Thanks Morph, I am going to be building an Affordaplane, so it will be 3 axis, not to sure how well I would fare in a flying samoosa, with everything operating back to front and all

But then again the affordalpane is a single seater, so would I be correct in assuming that it would be a couple of hours on a similar type with instructor, for the convex?

Not so sure about that  :D

Interesting question, Probably have the instructor tap you on your back and say it's all yours

I wonder if they have a dual seat version for training?

It would make sense to get a MPL taildragger conversion first like a bush baby, cheetah or cubby.

RV4ker has a single seater WWI double winger replica microlight on his licence. He is better suited to answer this one

Convex to get MPL, or simply fly the new aerie on PPL..

For convex a suitably rated instructor must give you brief and talk you round the circuit. Once done he wills in same convex form and states that he observed you competently fly the aerie.

They suggest you get a couple hrs in "similar" aerie. Looking at this baby the cubby would be likely candidate. (Bush Baby, tail Cheetah, Cub or Avid will also work).

Then jump in and go. If no rated instructors you can get PPL do "assist". Don't know how this works and even if one of these exist in SA. If one is not on reg be prepared to do some serious work with CAA.
