Shares in New Hanger and Airfield Pretoria

Postby The Agent » Wed Jan 09, 2008 7:31 pm

Hanger Flield (First script 09.01.08)

This airfield and hanger development was planned by two aviation nuts and I was asked to join for a very good reason and I am thankful for that.
We found that there was a great shortage for hanger storage of aircraft and a good safe airfield from where al these owners could operate from. Willem then found this magnificent piece of land and a deal was struck.
Just on the outskirts of Pretoria on the N4 Witbank highway lays this new venture for all the interested aviators.

The ground has been secured and transfer will take place at the end of April 2008.
In the mean time the EIA is being done as well as the rezoning of the current agricultural land to private hangers an airfield and some commercial stands as well.

This is going to take some time (+- 9 months) but it is believed that we will be able to start with the service delivery and earth works within four months.

Security is the first thing that will be attended to as with aircraft it is most important.

The main runway will be in the general direction of 09/27 being 20 meters wide and 1500 meters long with lights and some form of approach aid. ( Vasi )
A cross runway in direction 03/21 and 750 meters in grass will also be there.

At this stage it appears that three different sizes of hangers will be constructed, lets say large, medium and small from a PC 12 to an composite ultra light and Micro Lights we will be able to house or hanger rather.
Dust is a always a major problem with hangers so our designer is going to make sure that we solve that problem.
Steel structure will be the order of the day with water on the out side of the hanger.
Electricity will be on a pay as you go system inside each hanger and then you can have as many lights as you please, but when we build one will be fitted.
Because of the fact that almost 460 hangers are going to be built we have to come up with a solution as far as toilets are concerned amongst the hangers, but let’s leave that to the design team.
The hangers will be sectional title and at the end of the construction the open spaces will be common land for use by the share holders, like the runway and clubhouse area. At the end of the day you take transfer of your hanger in the scheme.

We will also soon be able to show you or give you an idea of what the clubhouse is going to look like but it looks like open and lots of glass for aircraft viewing will be the order of the day.

The next step is to ensure that your name is on the list so when the team is ready to do the paper work you will be first.
Contracts will be done and a 10 % deposit will secure and the balance on registration.
We will be on hand to arrange all the finance to ensure a good and sound investment.

Before even putting pen to paper there are already more than 60 reservations on record.

I thought it appropriate under the Hanger Talk banner as that is what we are about a hanger park...

Now please help with a suitable name for the airfield and make suggestions as no one is perfect.

Hi Graham,

Could you possibly show the airfield location on a larger map?

Agent
When can we see a venture like this in the south of JHB? The airfields around the south are all full.
