Who will support a petition to caa regarding the crank issue

i sympathise with you, however it is only one part of the bigger issue,
amendmends to part 24

The Crankshaft issue is only a small part of the real mess.

I will support a petition for common sense on the whole maintance issue!

Leprachaun is addressing the crank issue and I think we must all support and applaud his efforts.

Hopefully with this survey the powers that be will see the facts.

ML engines are not type certified and therefore plan and expect a sudden stoppage as per page one of the engine manual. Statistically by far the majority of these engine outs are due to fuel, carb, air filter, cold seizures and even electrical reasons. The vast majority of these are covered in detail during pilot training and then get neglected over time due to pilot complacency and kak attitude and poor preflights.

With good reliable data we will surely be able to show the powers that be just low down the list crankshafts are.

Lets focus on the real issues at the top of the list first. After all they are far more important and also less costly to put right.
