Just landed from 30min of bliss. :D :D :D :D

Battling to wipe the grin off my face at the moment.

Weather is not great. SW 5-10, which is a bumpy wind no matter how light. Decided to do some flying a bit in-land for a change. If I don't see the beach for a while I'll be OK :D

I knew I couldn't stay out the sky for too long, and because I knew I'd be a bit nervous about turbulence after Friday, thought today was the day. Now you get turbulence and tUrbULeNcE, and I was pleasantly surprised that I am still comfortable with the former. :D :D

I think it was one of those great flying afternoons in Natal. Flew about 1hour in lovely conditions this evening, met kb at Ballito, and one of our old students came for a visit. He left Marble Hall near Warmbaths this morning, and landed when the sun was just about to set.

We needed a SkyRanger to train a new students, and our new one is running a bit late  , so Riaan was kind enough to hire his SkyRanger back to us, and deliver it! He qualified in April, does not even 100 hours yet, but zooting all around the country! Now that's flying! :D

Here is a photo of his grin when he landed just after 5pm.

Just landed (11:30) after doing 2 para drops from a trike. Getting a bit thermic  , but staying in the thermals for the climb helped a hell of a lot. 6min 25sec to 4200' AGL , from start-up :!: :!: Climbing off the clock at least twice :D :D :D :D

Descending: alternating steep turns left and right (Aquilla I wing, nice and stable, usually battle to loose height) Down in 4 min. Flew into thermal on finals, gained 100' on idle  Go around, put it down second time perfectly!

Man I love my life when the Big Skygod is good to us 8) :D

This morning a flip to Vereeniging, landed on the tar there... My wingman had comm hassle, did not know ATC only starts at 8... He made a u-turn and had me stressing all the way back from there!

Then off to a 4x4 Intro course... GULP...

Rushed through to Saldanha on Saturday morning with all my stuff packed for the Vredendal Fly-in. Arrived to find only one other trike pilot there who had decided not to go due to bad weather predicted for today which would have made it impossible for us to get back. $@#$@#$@#! foiled again by the skygods! Obviously need to offer up more virgins or something!
